LEBANESE SENSATION MYRIAM FARES’ HIGHLY ANTICIPATED PERFORMANCE NEARS AS PART OF ‘JALSAH LIVE!’ AT VOLVO OCEAN RACE ABU DHABI STOPOVER
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – 18December 2014 – The eagerly anticipated headline performance at ‘Jalsah Live!’ – the traditional ‘majlis’ music bythe Arab world’s ‘Queen Of The Stage’ - Myriam Fares - is 8 days away. Scheduled for December 26, the star studded show will take place on the unique Skyline Stage built into the waters of Abu Dhabi Corniche as part of the city’s Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) Stopover programme, which runs until January 3.
Tickets for Fares’ one-night only performance accompanied by Yemeni star Fouad Abdel Wahed range from Platinum VIP seating in a hospitality terrace with cinema surround sound at AED 800 (US $216) to Gold seating at AED 500 (US $137) and Silver at AED 250 (US $68), both at floor level. Myriam is one of Arabia’s biggest social media sensations. In addition to her music achievements, Myriam is the only ambassador of Google Plus in the MENA region as a result of being the most searched celebrity. She will be joined on stage by the 24-year-old Fouad Abdel Wahid who sprang to fame as a winner of Abu Dhabi TV’s ‘Gulf Star’ competition.
The dynamic music duo will perform on the incredible, 400 square metre ‘Skyline Stage’ which will be transformed into a traditional Arabian majlis with Abu Dhabi’s stunning Corniche vistas as the backdrop. The production will deliver full concert sound and include a multi-camera video broadcast of the performance on a 60 square metre video wall suspended above the stage.
Myriam Fares, who is gearing up for a highly special and memorable performance on the 26th of this month said, “I’m really getting excited ahead of my performance in Abu Dhabi later on this month and fans can definitely expect a performance to remember at Jalsah Live!.”

And Fouad Abdel Wahid, who is best known for hit singles such as ‘Washington, Mafik Heela and Arbaa Wa Eeshreen, says the Jalsah Live! audience can expect to hear all their favourite songs – and more.
A large number of tourists and residents are expected to visit the purpose-built VOR Destination Village on Abu Dhabi Corniche Breakwater for the Stopover celebrations. The village is open free-of-charge to the public until 3rd January, when the hardy VOR race fleet departs for its next endurance sailing leg to Sanya, China. The Stopover features sailing action, live concerts, water-sports and family entertainment.
Village timings are 12 noon to 9pm on weekdays and 11am until midnight on weekends. People wishing to visit can also get there via a weekend boat ferry service which leaves the Corniche Beach hourly from 12 noon on weekends and drops passengers at the heart of the village.
